Underneath the surface we’re paddl

Blog, Getting started, Networking Posted on: Nov 09, 2009 By: Paul O'Mahony | 1 Comment

A swan
on the River Lee
paddles like fury
so you can see it glide by…

That’s what it’s like today.  CorkMeet2009 is coming soon.  In order to appear “cool, calm & collected” among 300 companies, we are having a crazy time preparing…

  • Business partners
  • Designers
  • Printers
  • Logistics
  • Network of supporters

These are some of those we’re in touch with, face to face & virtually.

Actually most of  the excitement is going on over the internet (& down mobile phone) – from our Head Office in the English Market.

It’s about time we took a look to see who’s Speed Dating with us on Thursday (when the one-to-ones happen)?

Whoever the good people @CorkMeet2009 have linked us with are exactly perfect people for us to meet.  It’s most likely we’ll build a longterm relationship with a business we’ve never heard of.

Serendipity drives our world.  Things are so much in flux, it’s best to embrace surprise – as if it was exactly what we expected.

ps If you’re reading this & start wondering whether we’re worth meeting @CorkMeet2009, find us there by ringing us.  You can find our contact details on the website. We’ll always have time for contact.

These are a few of the reasons you connect on Twitter with others.

Let’s use our professional expertise to add to this list.  Let’s create a memorable & useful list here.

Comment – go on… do it… now.

ps  Today I followed @smarteregg & picked a few of those @smarteregg follows for @marketingwrite to follow.

Network Cork – an opportunity

Blog, Getting started, Networking Posted on: Nov 04, 2009 By: Paul O'Mahony | 2 Comments

Unexpectedly, I got an invitation to Network Cork today.

Brid McAuliffe’s a star for thinking of me.

It was the first time men were invited into  this network of women entrepreneurs.

If I was a woman, I’d join Network Cork – because this was a room of about 70 switched on business people.

And the main speaker was a heavy hitter from the world of social media Krishna De.  You don’t get speakers of that caliber often.

Generously, Krishhna De tweeted to say she met me.  She told her Twitter followers (12,433) that marketingwritenow.com went live today.

That’s free advertising to die for.

Such is the amazing world of viral connectivity.

ps:  Also met Charlotte Backman from STARWOODS, Yvonne Farrar of KANVAS, Bernie McEvoy director of  AALTONEN, & Hannah Ash recruitment consultant from Manpower and others…

Your First Blog Post

You’ll be nervous.

The first time you make love, it must be wonderful.  Same with the first time you blog.  But the most important thing is to “Do It”.

A website is relatively fixed.  A blog is not – it moves.
